Welcome to
The Ouachita Challenge!

The Ouachita Cycling Club is now in its second decade of presenting the Ouachita Challenge. This unique event in a sixty plus mile loop provides two days of mountain bike touring and racing on two of our best trails. The Ouachita Trail is known for its challenging climbs, vast technical sections, and scenic views of the Ouachita River. The Womble Trail (an IMBA Epic) is known for its fast trails and scenic views of the Ouachita Mountains and valleys.

With our many great sponsors and the support from numerous volunteer groups, we make every effort to assure you that your Ouachita Challenge Mountain Bike Adventure is a memorable and enjoyable experience.

Another Great Year!!!

We would also like to give a special shout out to all of our volunteer groups who help us at the event. We hear a lot of people asking “who are those awesome volunteers out there?”

We receive special help from FoOT (Friends of the Ouachita Trail) at aid stations and road crossings, HAM radio help from Ouachita Amateur Radio Association, First Responders from Cove, Vandervoort, Joplin, & Sims fire departments, registration & finish line help from CASA (court appointed special advocates) and Mt. Ida FFA, and help from the Oden Woods & Water Club as well as various Oden Groups.

We would also like to thank Angie’s Therapeutic Massage and Natural Touch Massage Therapy for helping our knotty bodies!

Where do Ouachita Challenge proceeds go?

The Ouachita Cycling Club Inc. is a non profit organization. Each year we donate around $25,000 from the Ouachita Challenge to the following organizations:
