Another Great Year!!!
We can’t give enough thanks to the Oden Public Schools for our home base and all the help & The National Forest Service for a place to ride!
We would also like to give a special shout out to all of our volunteer groups who help us at the event. We hear a lot of people asking “who are those awesome volunteers out there?” This year we received special help from FoOT (Friends of the Ouachita Trail) at aid stations and road crossings, HAM radio help from Ouachita Amateur Radio Association, First Responders from Cove, Vandervoort, Joplin, & Board Camp fire departments, registration & finish line help from CASA (court appointed special advocates), and Mount Ida PTO
We would also like to thank B&B Body Works for helping our knotty bodies!
Where do Ouachita Challenge proceeds go?
The Ouachita Cycling Club is a non profit club. Thanks to all our wonderful participants from last year, over $12,000 from the 2009 Ouachita Challenge helped these organizations:
Oden Woods & Water Club, CASA of the Ouachita Region, Mena Elks Lodge, Ouachita Amateur Radio Association, FOOT (Friends of the Ouachita Trail), First Responders from Cove, Vandervoort, Joplin, & Board Camp fire departments, Mount Ida PTO, and Ouachita Cycling Club Trail maintenance fund.

This event is held in a "dry county" (no alcohol sales). Also, the Oden Schools are a drug free environment. Please respect these rules.
